Today I wanted to feature the fabulous Dessy Group 2010 Collection and their super cool interactive website. If you haven’t already, check out their Flip Book where you can flip pages, zoom, save and print out your favorite 2010 styles. I love the interactive color palette tools and coordinated wedding party suggestions as you’re browsing the site. Also very helpful: the PANTONE Wedding section which helps you choose your wedding color, design the perfect bridesmaid dress with the PANTONE color guide, and even design your own inspiration board! The Dessy Group Label Collection includes The Dessy Collection, After Six, Alfred Sung and my personal favorite, the adorable Lela Rose Bridesmaid Collection below.
From the recent Golden Globes to famous celebrity weddings, purple is the new and trendy color for gowns and weddings! This month Wishpot gives you tips and ideas for your gorgeous purple wedding.
When it comes to a purple wedding, the bride can add a few little things to her white dress that will add some spice to it. Wearing purple pumps like these BCBGeneration Dante Pumps will make a statement while you walk down the aisle! You can also take tips from celebrity weddings like Khloe Kardashian. She had a gorgeous purple/lavender wedding which can serve for a great place for inspiration. Khloe sported one of our favorite new wedding trends today…the SASH! Putting a sash around your wedding dress is a great way to make any traditional white dress look more elegant and unique.
What about decorations and favors? One of our favorite wedding favors are these awesome personalized travel candle tins which are a fun personal way to say thank you to your guests. And for decorations, save money on these beautiful purple and lavender silk rose petals. Putting them in the middle of all your guests tables will add more sophistication and serenity to your wedding.
When it comes to the wedding party, the bridesmaid dresses should be flattering on all shapes and sizes. This is why this short dark purple bridesmaid dress from Nordstrom is a perfect match for your wedding! And last but definitely not least…for the groom, add the perfect touch to his tux with a purple tie!
Every bride needs a little purple in her life. For more ideas on wedding dresses, décor, and more visit www.wishpot.com/weddings!

The colors, cuisine, and traditions of Mexico make it a rich and wonderful theme for your wedding. This post was inspired by Mexico’s Independence Day, September 16! The festive colors of the Mexican flag–green, white and red–are seen everywhere in Mexico today. If you’d like to have a Mexican wedding theme, consider these as your theme colors. For some colorful and stunning centerpieces and place settings, look for Mexican clay folk art figurines, tin art, paper flowers, or the traditional “loteria” playing cards. You can also use succulent arrangements for your centerpieces and bouquets for that added Mexican flare.
For a fun cocktail hour, have a tacos al pastor station with a cook serving the spicy flame-grilled pork with onion and pineapple on fresh tortillas . For your main menu, offer authentic Mexican cuisine and set it up in a buffet format for your guests to pick and choose what they’d like to try…and let them go for seconds, too! Hang strings of papel picado, the traditional festive paper banners with hand-punched designs, or colored lanterns to decorate the surroundings of your wedding site. Put out lots of colorful votive candles to set the mood in the evening. If you are able to have some fireworks or some sparklers, it would be a nice touch for the end of the night. Give Mexican candies as your favors, such as De La Rosa Mazapan, a peanut-based candy that’s really yummy and looks so cute in nothing more than its own wrapper.
The golden glow of this mustard yellow color palette is perfect for a summer wedding day. Such rich colorful accents will make any wedding a memorable one. Warm, bright, and cheerful colors will complement the joyful mood of you and your guests.
Just like Rachel Ashwell, I too have a thing for everything shabby chic. When it comes to my personal living style, I find inspiration in old pieces of furniture, jewelry, or clothes that are begging for a second chance at life. So my inspiration for today was a shabby but very chic wedding with pretty pinks and lots of pretty roses and peonies. There’s something about this look that I find absolutely lovely and romantic. Enjoy the inspiration!
