I recently attended my friends Sharon & Carlie’s wedding and, knowing Sharon’s love for snacks and sweet treats (hence her brand new blog Snackaholics), they featured a tempting dessert table. They had all the popular favorites: mini cupcakes, macarons, and assorted cookies…but when everyone saw The Fry Girl’s mini donut cart setup, talk about love being in the air! All I have to say is, those tasty little donut treats where a total success among us guests, and were super yummy!
Gourmet or designer donuts are a hot trend in wedding desserts right now…so hot that some couples are opting for these heavenly deep-fried confections instead of the traditional wedding cake by having a donut cake tower; how fun is that? Other couples include them as part of a decadent dessert table, as wedding favors packaged in a pretty customized paper bag, or included in a gift box for out-of-town guests. Bakeries are increasingly adding gourmet donuts to their menus with very creative and inventive flavor combinations and colorful glazes. I found some really pretty examples of how you can feature these donuts and make them the focal point in your dessert table. Time to enjoy some delicious doughy goodness!

Are you saying that donuts are instead of the cake? I am so happy! should it be one donut per person?
Thanks!
